New variants of COVID-19 and their impact on health security
Main Article Content
Abstract
- 172 new variants resulting from variable changes in sequencing of one hundred viral genomes of Covid-19 have been discovered. These changes are represented by addition, deletion, and replacement of genome’s genetic codes when virus transmission from one person to another.
- The new variants origination has increased by 150% when compared with viral transmission among individuals.
- There are two potentials for viral transmission among people. The first potential is based on the geographical distribution of population structure. The second one is based on the place of virus origination. There is convincing evidence on the Chinese origination of Covid-19.
